Mrs. Peter Hallock (Liz)
Proposed by: Laura Harris Liz Hallock is an exceptionally engaged member of our community. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Bedford Historical Society, and for the previous decade, she was the Head of Admission at Rippowam Cisqua. As fate would have it, the Bedford Garden Club, the Historical Society, and Rippowam Cisqua are kindred spirits—interwoven by history and shared values. Look no further than our legendary Delia Marble, who was a founding member of all three organizations! A past member of the BGC, Liz is eager to rejoin, reconnect, and contribute once more. She and her husband Peter have raised three children in Bedford. Liz has been actively involved in the parent associations at both the Berkshire School and Middlebury College and continues her support of Rippowam Cisqua and Fox Lane Youth Lacrosse. She brings a wealth of civic experience, boundless energy, and deep community ties—an invaluable addition to the BGC. |
Mrs. Oliver Henzler (Leah)
Proposed by: Cameron Goodyear Leah Lawrence Henzler’s love of horticulture and conservation is both inherited and lived. The daughter of our beloved longtime BGC member Wendy Foulke, Leah grew up surrounded by the natural world. A passionate gardener and enthusiastic Audubon nature guide, Wendy instilled in Leah the reverence for birds, bees, and blooms early on. Leah has lived in Bedford for most of her life and has been a supporter of the Mianus River Gorge for several years. Nature has its own music, and fittingly, Leah (who has a background as a singer-songwriter) has also been a steady presence at Caramoor. Professionally, she works as an Executive Coach for both corporate executives and creative professionals. Keeping it real herself, she is also a certified yoga instructor. Leah’s energy, insight, and deep-rooted connection to nature will make her a powerful voice for environmental stewardship within the BGC. |
Mrs. Russell Spitler (Consuelo)
Proposed by: Liza Clymer In the short time Consuelo Pierrepont Spitler, her husband, and their three children have lived at their glorious 12-acre estate on Harris Road (previously owned by two BGC members Gilda McGarry & Mer Finn, who was the source for Anita Stockbridge's first Primulas), she has wasted no time becoming a true steward of the land. Working with a renowned arborist, she has been identifying every tree on the property while lovingly restoring several of its gardens. With innate taste and style, Consuelo has run her own successful design firm in Austin and Jackson Hole. Fun, family-oriented, and a true doer, she’s sure to bring fresh energy and hands-on enthusiasm to the Club’s conservation, horticulture, and floral committees. |
